Residential Services can offer short-term accommodation in University owned self-contained flats, availability varies throughout the year.  This accommodation is ideally suited for visiting members of staff from other Institutions, or new appointees to University staff, who perhaps are seeking a short term solution while they investigate the local property market.  Our new Director of Equality and Diversity, Naseem Anwar, has used this service and comments:-

“Residential Services has played a major role in my settling in and feeling comfortable in Glasgow. The Human Resources department put me in touch with Residential Services to enquire about short-term letting. In Dec 2006 I was offered a flat within walking distance of the University. I was most impressed with the seamless and professional support provided by staff in Residential Services .  I feel perhaps the service is probably not well-known amongst staff (arriving outside of Glasgow/ Scotland). I believe staff in Residential Services are modest in flagging up how good a service they're providing. A big thank you to you all again for making me feel truly welcomed and for helping me to adjust to my new surroundings quickly.”
