Charges are made for the following basic external costs to Media Unit:

1. Duplication/ Encoding/Standards Conversion
2. Music copyright (fees to the Mechanical Copyright Protection Society - MCPS). Commercial tracks are negotiable on an individual basis
3. Crew Overtime outwith 0900-1700 (Monday to Friday)
4. Travel & Duty - petrol/accommodation/meals etc on location shoots
5. Digital tape stock (filming/editing and mastering)
6. For external services such as 'Face the Media' training/ consultancy work for external clients (Fully Economic Costing charges are made).
7. For studio hires - wet/dry external hire and dry hire internally

 
Please note that the Media team used to charge a 'production fee' on internal promotional programming to cover extended scripting/filming and editing time required. This charge no longer applies.

To allow the Media team to provide the best possible service, please provide as much notice as possible of your needs, particularly for large productions.
