Windows Vista

IT Services advises that you do NOT purchase Windows Vista for any machine intended for use within the University. This is due to unresolved technical issues from various hardware/software vendors and is out with our control. We will therefore be unable to support you.  We will update this advice when the position changes. IT Services recommends XP Professional SP2.

    Please note that the MyGlasgow PC is fully supported by IT Services.  Support may be offered to other PC models, but there will normally be a charge for services rendered and where there are competing demands priority will be given to the support of the MyGlasgow PC.

    If the MyGlasgow PC is unable to meet your requirements, please consult the following companies which are recognised suppliers under the IRDA (Inter-Regional Desktop Agreement).  Please contact the supplier direct for pricing, specification, delivery and warranty.
