Scholarship Opportunities

The Commonwealth Scholarship Scheme

This scheme supports PhD study in Commonwealth countries.  There are two different schemes:

1. The Commonwealth Scholarship Scheme: funds three years of study in a University in the UK. The PhD is awarded by the UK institution.

2. The Split-Site Doctoral Scheme: students are registered for PhDs in their home institution and are funded to spend 12 months at a University in the UK (this can be one 12 month visit or two six month visits).  The PhD is awarded from the home institution.

In both cases, the nomination must come from the home institution (ie UDSM, North West University, Bunda College, or National University of Rwanda).  The deadline is 31st December, but you should start working on your application long before that.
