We are the largest grouping of economic and social historians in
Our research is internationally recognised for its excellence, in the latest Research Assessment Exercise we were graded 5.
We are extremely successful in gaining research funding and have a large postgraduate community. We have particular strengths in business history, the history of medicine and social and gender history.
Our teaching draws on our specialist research expertise. Our undergraduates come from a wide range of backgrounds and experience a high level of student satisfaction during their studies here.
We offer a friendly and supportive learning environment. Our graduates go on to enjoy outstanding careers in the government and the media.
